Notice of Public Meetings-  Notice is hereby given that the monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Columbus, Nebraska, in the State of Nebraska, a/k/a Columbus Housing Authority, of Platte County, Nebraska, will hold board meetings at 1:00pm (CST) on the 3rd Monday of each month at the Administrative Office located at 2554 40th Ave, Columbus, NE, which meetings will be open to the public.  The purpose of the meeting, kept continuously current, is available for public inspection at the office of the Executive Director during normal buisness hours. Board meetings for  2012:   May 21st, June 18th, July 16th, August 20th, Sept. 17th, October 15th, November 19th, December 17th

The office will be closed on the following dates:

May 28th- Memorial Day

Pre Applications are currently being accepted to get on our  waiting list for the following:

• Heritage House Apartments for those 62 years of age or
  older or disabled

Both programs have eligibility requirements. In order to be placed on the waiting list, a photo ID for all persons 18 years of age and old and a copy of the head of household's Social Security Card must be attached to your application. You may also stop by our office for an application or call us to have one sent to you.

Columbus Housing Authority is located in Columbus Nebraska and manages the Columbus area Section 8 Voucher Program as well as an 84-unit facility called "Heritage House Apartments".

Heritage House is owned by the Housing Authority of the City of Columbus, Nebraska, & operates in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.

A full time Executive Director is available Monday - Friday during business hours.

The Authority’s Board of Commissions consists of five local citizens appointed by the Mayor of Columbus.

We are proud of the facilities at Heritage House and invite everyone to visit or call for further information.

We also manage the Housing Choice Voucherr Program. This is a federally funded rental assistance program. Please go to the Section 8 Voucher link for more information on that program.
